WILL YOU JOIN US?
We would love for you and your church to join us in praying the Lord's Prayer together at midday on 12th January as we ask that God's Kingdom is seen across the UK in 2025. Let us know if you're joining us.
The Lords Prayer Spiritual Boost Challenge.
We're inviting you to try out reflecting on the Lord’s Prayer each day. Spend a little time, reflecting on each line per day, the additional bible verse and if you have time listen into the resources created and available on the links attached.
Day 1. Mon 13th January
'Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.'
At the start of a new year many of us make extra efforts to draw closer to God, but sometimes we can be at a loss to know how to go about it. An attitude of gratitude in 2025 could be just the thing to shift your focus away from the problems of life and fix your gaze on the blessings that come from above. Today we invite you to try simple yet powerful habit of beginning each day by giving thanks for 3 things. You might want to have a book where you write them all down, then by the end of the year you'll have over 1,000 things you are grateful for. Even if life is tough, there is always something to thankful for!
BIBLE VERSE: "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." - 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Day 2. Tues 14th January
`Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our trespasses.’
If you go into a bookshop you'll probably find a 'self help' or 'self improvement' section. It signals an awareness among humanity that how we're living is not the fullness of what is possible - deep within we realise that there is more to life. Repentance can seem like a heavy word, but acknowledging that life is not quite how it might be can lead us into greater freedom. Maybe today you could take some time to reflect on the ways you've not lived as you could have in this past year, for the times anger, pride and selfishness have taken hold, asking the Lord's forgiveness and inviting His love into each of those areas. You may want to write them out on a piece of paper and cut it into pieces afterwards as a symbol of the Lord washing you clean and bringing freedom.
BIBLE VERSE: 'If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.' - 1 John 1:9

Day 3. Weds 15th January
`As we forgive those who trespass against us.’
Has your life turned out how you thought it would? Throughout our lives there will be disappointments, but it's what we do with them that matters - either they can make us bitter or increase our levels of compassion. People might let us down, even in church, but God calls us to forgive them just as He forgives us. This does not mean that what the person did was right, nor does it mean you have to become friends with them (in fact, they might not even be alive), it's about praying a prayer that enables you to be free from any ways their wrongdoing has taken root in your heart. God has forgiven you for all your shortcomings, so to be like Him is to forgive others for theirs. Take time to pray and ask God today who you need to forgive and enter into a new level of freedom - perhaps the person you need to forgive and set free today is yourself.
BIBLE VERSE: 'Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.' - Ephesians 4:32

Day 4. Thurs 16th Jan
And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
Clutter can impact our mental and spiritual well-being, as has been seen in cases where people hoard so many belongings that they are left unable to enjoy the home they live in. Today you might want to reflect on what changes you can make in your life today to enable you to become more attentive to the presence of God. For you, it might be making a commitment to spend less time scrolling on your phone or watching TV, or to be more discerning about what type of entertainment you engage in. Perhaps you would consider making a commitment to clean a kitchen cupboard you haven't sorted in a while or to bag up clothes you haven't worn in ages to take to the charity shop. Identify what distracts you and tempts you away from being present to the Lord and take some steps today towards the light.
BIBLE VERSE: 'I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may be led astray from your simple and pure devotion to Christ.' - 2 Corinthians 11:3
LISTEN - Fr Emmanuel Mansford is a monk who has given up the usual ways of living to live simply. Listen to why he has done that and get inspired. Are we called to live simply rather than lavishly? - Faith, Hope, and Love - Premier Plus
Day 5. Fri 17th Jan
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever.
How did you first come to hear the Good News about Jesus? Maybe you learnt about it in Sunday School or perhaps a friend invited you church. Having someone share the hope, joy and love to be found in a relationship with God is the only way many some people will ever know about the faith. Often fear can get in the way - fear of someone rejecting our invitation or us being in a situation where we don't know how to answer difficult questions. But we can start small. Today, we encourage you to send a message to three friends or family members who might not be church-goers asking them how you can pray for them today. It doesn't matter how they respond, what matters is that you planted a seed that you believe in the power of prayer and want to bring their intentions before the God of the Universe.
BIBLE VERSE: 'For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.' - Romans 1:16
LISTEN: Minister Rico Tice believes mission is both a privilege and responsibility. Hear him share some thoughts on why it's important. The privilege of mission - The Bible Explored with Rico Tice - Premier Plus
On 12th January 2025, as we approach what's often dubbed as 'Blue Monday', we invite you to join us for a special moment of unity and hope across all our radio stations.
UNITY & HOPE
12 NOON
At precisely 12 noon, we will unite our voices in reciting the Lord's Prayer, a shared proclamation of our faith and a powerful symbol of Christian unity. As we usher in the new year, it's an opportunity to collectively pray for 2025 and to share the hope that Jesus brings into our lives.
In challenging times, it’s crucial to remember that while we may experience 'Blue Mondays', we are never alone; our faith in Christ binds us together. Let's stand together against despair and depression, lifting each other up in prayer and illuminating the winter darkness with our shared faith. Tune in, join in, and let’s make this day not blue, but filled with the light of Jesus' hope.
Listen from 11am on UCB 1 or UCB 2, via DAB radio, online at ucb.co.uk or with UCB Player (available on the App Store or Google Play)
Listen from 12pm on Premier Christian Radio, via DAB radio, online at premier.plus, via your smartspeaker or on Premier Plus app. Find out more here.
Our Plan
JAN 12TH
On January 12th 2025 at 12 noon, UCB and Premier Christian Radio are working together to call the nation to prayer. We believe there is extraordinary power when God’s people unite in prayer and together, we want to see something ignited that will transform lives across the nation.
On the morning of the 12th, both stations will broadcast reflections and worship culminating in a joint call to pray the Lord’s Prayer together at 12 noon.
THE LORDS PRAYER
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
Matthew 6:9-13 (NIV UK)
IMAGINE
Would you like to join us? We’re looking for partners who want to add their voice and share this with their own networks too. Imagine what it could look (and sound) like if hundreds of thousands of believers all across the UK paused and stood united in prayer for this brief moment in time? In a world which is bitterly divided, this intentional act of unity is a huge testimony to our shared faith in Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
PARTNER WITH US
Would you like to be involved? By partnering with this initiative you’re simply saying that you want to add your organisation’s name to the list of others who will be taking part. Perhaps you will then use your platform, whether that’s a church billboard, a Facebook page or email list, to encourage others to join with us on January 12th.
THE POWER OF PRAYER
if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14-16
